TOKKI
About This Spot
Nestled in the heart of Surry Hills, TOKKI welcomes you with an atmosphere that feels both familiar and inviting—a vibrant yet intimate corner where the hum of conversation blends effortlessly with the clink of glasses. The warm glow of soft lighting and an open kitchen hint at a dining experience that’s as much about connection and discovery as it is about the food.
This isn’t a place to rush through your meal, but rather to settle in and savor the harmony of Japanese and Korean influences woven thoughtfully throughout the menu. Whether you find yourself lingering over fresh, delicate bites from the raw bar or drawn to the smoky allure of charred dishes, there’s a comforting sense of craftsmanship in every detail.
The flow here is casual—the kind of spot where service feels personal and genuine, like catching up with a friend who knows exactly when to share something special from the kitchen. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment, especially as plates arrive in an unhurried rhythm, encouraging shared enjoyment and conversation around the table.
From the lively chatter of nearby diners to the subtle layers of spice and umami that reveal themselves with each mouthful, TOKKI offers a modern take on Asian fusion that’s as warm in spirit as it is clever on the palate. This is a spot to celebrate simple pleasures—good company, thoughtful flavors, and that unique buzz that comes from finding a new favourite nook in the city.

The staffs were SO FRIENDLY! We ordered the set menu (69pp) some dishes were quite good, some were okay. And the amount of set menu is a lot! We were so full and didn’t finish the main The favorite dish is King Fish! It’s fresh and the flavor was perfect! The king prawn was also my personal favorite! The butter sauce was so good. If you love prawn, you will love it! The broccolini flavored nicely as well, the sauce was really good! The eggplant chip was cool, I never had eggplant with deep fried skin before, the truffle sauce and cheese dressing was good. Other than these, the rice cake was okay. The fried chicken main dish was a bit disappointing, this was our less favorite one. The skin was pretty thick , the chicken was dry, the radish and chicken sizes were huge and the chicken was with bone It was not too bad but I expected more from other dishes experience! We went there with 4 people, could only choose one main dish. Overall TOKKI is a very good restaurant, good vibe, nice staffs, delicious food. But maybe instead of set menu, I ’ll order every dish separately next time

Delicious food, lots of flavour. The miso sauce in all dish was quite sweet though and the sweetness over powered the dishes. The dishes came out in random order without us being told, so some of us had mains while others still had entrees. Ambience was very nice and staff were friendly.

This place rocks - absolute must visit. I walked in alone on Valentine’s Day after getting turned away from numerous restaurants. The host team here welcomed me and told me they were fully committed for the evening, but they found a way to seat me still. Not only that, they provided incredible service and even better food. They absolutely didn’t have to make room for me but they did anyway and it made for a great night. This place is a must visit - food is great with lots of flare and flavor. Vibes are fantastic. All around great spot. Thanks again!

Perfect casual date night spot! We tried the Feed Me set menu which is such a steal at $69 per person. Our fave dishes were the kingfish, king prawn, and truffle broccolini. The set menu comes with a choice of main (either Korean fried chicken or pork belly wraps) and dessert (yuzu sorbet or red bean bingsu). They also have a great selection of cocktails! If you love great food, drinks and vibes this is the spot for you.

We felt like eating out and trying a new place, so we opted for Asian cuisine. That's how we ended up at Tokki in Surry Hills on a Tuesday evening, which was surprisingly lively inside. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with an authentic yet modern fusion of Japanese and Korean styles. We chose the 'Feed Me' tasting menu at $69 per person, which was very affordable and included a selection of 8 small and large dishes ranging from meat to fish to vegetables. Everything was excellent and very well executed, from the cooking to the seasoning, making simple ingredients complex, which is exactly why we enjoy dining out for the experience. Congratulations to the chefs, and also to the bartender for the delicious cocktails, and thanks to Tomàs for the service. We had a great time and will definitely be back, and will recommend around.

Went with a group of 8 which was accommodated with no fuss and had a blast. On the night 2 other groups enjoyed their birthdays (which of course we cheered for ) the food was pretty decent and cooked fresh. Cocktails also pretty decent. All in all a pretty mellow vibe and relaxing atmosphere

A fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine! I had one of the set menus, and the portions were really generous. Everything tasted great overall, but what really stood out was their unique drink menu. It’s definitely a fun place to come just for cocktails too!

This food (especially the sauces on/with each dish) was phenomenal. We definitely found a new restaurant that we'll return to many times. The charcoal flavour imbued in the dishes from that particular section of the menu was fantastic. The broccolini was my favourite but every single dish was something that I could eat over and over. The music was good and punchy but the sound system suffers because of too much concrete and hard surfaces. Cocktail menu and bartender were both on point
